Pefkohori beach Halkidiki: It is a fabulous beach with amazing blue waters and nice facilities located 68 km south of Poligiros, the main town of Halkidiki and 80 km from Thessaloniki. Pefkohori is a lovely beach resort and very busy during the high season. It is an ideal destinations, for the nature lovers gifted with some beautiful spots such as the nearby beach of Paliouri. The waters are so calm and clear and a nice swimming spot for families. The waterfront promenade of Pefkohori is lined with nice taverns with charming terraces overlooking the beach. The Cave of Petrálona
The Cave of Petrálona is one of the most impressive caves in Europe. Finds from the cave show that Halkidiki has been inhabited since Stone Age times. The most important of these is a human skull, that of the “Archanthropos”, which is generally believed to be 700,000 years old -in other words, it is the skull of the oldest European!
Visit the cave and admire labyrinthine interior with its stalactites and stalagmites. You can also visit the museum, where a large number of fossilised bones of different mammals are on display.
